Dear Editor, CityBeat Magazine,

(Letter to the editor of CityBeat Magazine by a concerned citizen who is concerned about the Anti-Robot Army exhibit at the Cincinnati Contemporary Arts Center.)

RE: The Anti-Robot Army Infiltrates the Contemporary Arts Center This Spring

I recently stumbled upon your article about the so-called “Anti-Robot Army” invading our beloved Contemporary Arts Center this spring. I must express my profound dismay and confusion. As a proud Cincinnatian of a certain age, I’ve always cherished our city’s rich history and traditions. But now, it seems we’re opening our doors to an army of rebellious machines!

Firstly, I must question the wisdom of allowing such an exhibition. Have we learned nothing from those “Transformers” documentaries? Machines rising up, causing havoc, and now we’re celebrating this? I shudder to think of the influence on our impressionable youth.

Moreover, with Cincinnati recently being named the top city for street art , one would think we’d focus on more wholesome, human-made art forms. Murals of our founding fathers, perhaps, or tasteful portraits of our city’s esteemed leaders.

I also worry about the safety implications. What if these “anti-robots” decide they’re not content being mere art pieces? Will they march down Vine Street, demanding rights and possibly our jobs? I’ve only just mastered sending emails; I can’t compete with a robot for my bridge club presidency!

In conclusion, while I appreciate the arts and the need for modern expression, I urge the Contemporary Arts Center to reconsider hosting such a potentially perilous exhibition. Let’s keep Cincinnati’s art scene safe, traditional, and, most importantly, human.

Sincerely,
Margaret “Muffy” Worthington III
